Another media lawsuit?
It's difficult to feel even schadenfreude at this latest development. While I can applaud this network's attempts to provide a balance in its opinion pieces (which even the disclaimers mention are those of the writers and not those of the network), and its acknowledgement of the effect of local media on national cases, I also have to consider that such things amount to a form of damage control, something to be sustained only until the storm of attention spans and memories blows over. (It won't be the first outlet to do such a thing, and I doubt it'll be the last.)
At this point, my biggest question regarding this network is whether a repeat of an earlier audit of the news aggregator I use will show a difference in which outlets make up what percent of the articles it shows.
