On the non-political investigation

From what I've read, there are cases from outside 中国 that visited their medical professionals before this mess started - however, I think this card's already been played before, looking for foreign origins to COVID-19. Turned out the suspected patient was linked to the military games that took place in the city in question. What would happen, I wonder, if the investigation found that common thread linked those outside cases together as well?
